The history of the MOSCAB Company began in 1997, when it was established
on the initiative and with direct involvement of the Moscow Government. The
Company's mission was to produce Metrocab taxicabs.
About 100 cabs were produced by the established enterprise. The automobiles
rolling of the assembly line were no different from the worldwide famous London
taxicabs except for the position of the steering wheel. In order to implement
the project, highly qualified specialists were hired and good technical facilities
were created.
In May 1999, the first line of the State Checkout Point for motor vehicles
was opened in the production facilities of the MOSCAB Company. The station was
equipped with means of technical diagnosis. In the same year, in November, the
second line was commissioned.
In 2000, by the decision of the city administration a MOSCAB taxi subdivision
was set up to expand the range of services provided. The main place, where the
taxi services were provided, was Sheremetyevo-2 International Airport.
Today MOSCAB Company is an official carrier of two Moscow airports, Sheremetyevo-2
and Domodedovo, and has its own 24-hour dispatch centre.
The MOSCAB fleet comprises cars that are equipped with airbags, air
conditioners, ABS, mobile and radio communication devices, satellite positioning
systems and panic buttons that allow responding immediately to extraordinary
situations. The cabs and their passengers are insured against risks by AUTOKASKO
and OSAGO. All cabs belong to the Company, while drivers are staff members.
The drivers are recruited on a competitive basis, the key evaluation factor
being the long-term accident-free driving experience.
Such companies as Oriflame Cosmetics, Tchibo CIS, UPS Communications, Electrolux,
Microsoft, TMC, BNP Paribas, Salym Petroleum (Shell Group), Robert Bosch and
others use services of MOSCAB Company.
